SBN All-Female Vehicle Build Update

By Sara Morosan, LGE-CTS Motorsports

If you haven't already heard about the SBN All-Female Bronco build, well now you have. This year marks the 10-year anniversary of the first All-Female build that took place in 2012. Ten years ago, I said yes to something that changed my life.

There are times in our life that we look back at the events that were most impactful and times that we felt like we had the most impact on others. When I look back in my life, the All-Female Mustang build was both of those moment for me. This is why I am so passionate about this year's anniversary build.

I met some of the most amazing women in the industry; they became my friends, my mentors and my family. It's where I grew the most as a person and as a woman in the industry. This was the moment that I confirmed that I was doing something I loved and passionate about. I'm beyond excited to know that we can bring this to the next generation of women in the aftermarket automotive industry.

This year, Ford Motor Co. supported the build again and supplied SBN with a 2022 Ford Bronco Wildtrak. We knew this project would be a lot to take on and wanted to secure a marketing manager and a project manager to spearhead the large undertaking. We are excited to announce that we have secured a project manager, Sherry Kollien from Motor City Solutions. Kollien was a part of the first All-Female build, so to have her join us again this year and to take on the job of project manager was the perfect fit. Kollien knows and understands what it takes to handle a project like this and the importance of this build, but my favorite part about Kollien joining the build team is that her daughter, a past SEMA Scholarship winner, will be able to volunteer on the build this year. SBN is excited to encourage the younger generation to be a part of this project.

SBN has a list of volunteers and companies that have already raised their hand to support the build, and the task force committee leads will be reaching out soon.

SBN has five task forces that volunteers can sign up to join; Volunteer, Events, Media, Parts and Sponsorships, and Build teams. If you have not signed up yet or would like more information, please contact Nicole Bradle via email at NicoleB@sema.org or fill out the online application.

If you don't have parts available for the build but would still like to support SBN, there are opportunities to help support in other way. Build days for this project will take place in July and August at both SEMA Garage locations, California and Detroit.
